Gold Fleece

The Golden Wool Fleece is made by using a sliver knit knitted fleece, which is a combination of Merino and Downs wool. Downs wool gives the underlay its rebound strength while the merino wool provides a soft comfy experience.

Wool has the unique ability to absorb perspiration and keep the skin dry. This allows the skin to breathe more effectively. Unlike polyester, real wool is exothermic and can absorb up to 33% of its own weight in moisture without feeling damp. Wool will not feel cold even when damp, helping you stay warm at night.

Our wool comes from primary downs sheep bred in New Zealand and Australia, from a breed that originates in the downs country of England, and Normandy in France. This wool is known for its strength, durability and sponginess. We also mix in some merino wool to give it it’s softness. Sheep from the downs are grown on good healthy pastures, giving our wool its highest quality and the nick-name the ‘spring steel’ of the wool world.

• Cooler autumn and winter months: use the underlay like any other, place it on your bed with the wool side facing up
• Spring and summer month: turn the underlay over so the cotton backing side facing up
• 900 gms per square metre of wool
• 28 mm plush pile

Handy tip: Avoid dry cleaning, and bleach to keep it looking good. Wash on a wool cycle at low temperature, tumble dry on a low heat setting or air dry.
